Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend a high school in Dutchess County, NY.
  2. Must be a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
  3. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.

Description: The scholarship is available to members of the Roman Catholic Church who are graduating seniors of a high school in Dutchess County.

Application requirements for the Frank Thomas Groff Scholarship Fund are:

Additional Information: The Frank Thomas Groff scholarship is provided during odd-numbered years to support the educational aspirations of a Roman Catholic student residing in the Dutchess county area.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years so long as the student maintains a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

pplications are available online from the Community Foundation of the Hudson Valley website at the address provided. In addition to the completed application, each applicant must submit two letters of recommendation (one academic and one personal); a copy of his/her most recent transcript; a copy of the student's Student Aid Report (SAR) and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) information; and an essay of approximately 500 words responding to the prompt listed on the application. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
