In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a resident of Illinois.
  4. Must be a high school senior.
  5. Must have taken the ACT and/or SAT.
  6. Must be the child or grandchild of a veteran or active-duty service member.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to Illinois high school seniors who have a parent or grandparent who is a veteran or active-duty service member. Applicants must a resident of Illinois. Additional Information: Each student must sign the application certifying that he/she is in need of scholarship aid.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the Illinois AMVETS Service Foundation website. Please note: Students may apply for more than one scholarship from the Illinois AMVETS Service Foundation; however, a separate application and supporting documentation must be submitted for each scholarship. In addition to a completed application, each student must submit the following materials: his/her most recent and up-to-date official high school transcript; an explanation of the school grading system; and a copy of his/her official ACT and/or SAT score(s). Applications must be mailed to the address provided and must be postmarked by the deadline date.
