In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be majoring in nursing.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be an undergraduate sophomore or junior at the time of application.

Description: The Laurene Ann Opdyke Nursing Scholarship is available for current college sophomores and juniors who are majoring in nursing. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the Laurene Ann Opdyke Nursing Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Founded in 1969, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation provides and administers more than 200 scholarships designed to assist local area students with the high and rising costs of a college education. Scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of merit, financial need, and other criteria as it applies to the specific award. The Laurene Ann Opdyke Nursing Scholarship was established by Richard Opdyke in his wife's honor. The award will be provided to a current nursing student in Oklahoma who is pursuing a bachelor's degree. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate unmet financial need.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable for up to one additional year so long as the student maintains a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

After completion of the General Application, the student may then apply for all scholarships for which he/she is eligible. All application materials must be submitted by the deadline date.
