In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a legal resident of Massachusetts.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  4. Must attend a participating Massachusetts college or university.
  5. Must plan to enroll full time.
  6. Must be a high school senior or older at time of application. Students must not have earned a bachelor's or professional degree or their equivalent.
  7. Must demonstrate financial aid need of at least $500, as determined by the Federal Methodology.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to Massachusetts High school seniors and undergraduate students who are planning to attend a nursing program full time at an eligible Massachusetts institution. Students must demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: The Massachusetts Gilbert Matching Student Grant Program (GMSGP) makes funds available to participating Massachusetts' institutions of higher education and schools of nursing. At least 100 percent of such funds must be used for direct financial assistance to needy Massachusetts undergraduate students to enable them to attend or continue to attend such institutions. Each applicant must not have earned a bachelor's or professional degree or an equivalent, not have earned a first diploma from a hospital or professional nursing program, not be in default of a Federal or state education loan or owe a refund on any previously received financial aid, and be in compliance with applicable laws regarding Selective Service Registration.

Award Amount: Awards range from $200 to $2,500 per academic year and are determined based on financial need. Renewability is dependent upon the institution financial aid policy. Students should contact the institution's financial aid office for more info.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,621.
