Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a legal resident of New Hampshire.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  4. Must plan to enroll for at least a half-time course load at an accredited school or program.
  5. Must be 17 to 23 years of age.
  6. Must have completed high school or earned a GED, and plan to attend a two-year or other short-term training program.
  7. Must demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: Since 2002, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has underwritten a special program to assist New Hampshire students who are interested in a vocational or technical career. The Foundation will provide support to students who need additional training beyond high school to realize their goals. Academic excellence is not a factor in selecting candidates for awards; however, the Foundation does expect students to demonstrate reasonable achievement and a commitment to their chosen field of study.

Award Amount: Award amounts generally range from $100 to $3,500 annually, depending on financial need. Awards are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,500.

Applications are available online on the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation (NHCF) website. The student should apply for this award using the NHCF online application. The student need only submit one online application for all scholarships for which he/she is eligible. The student must upload the following supporting documents to the online application: an essay of approximately 500 words describing his/her education and career goals; an electronic copy of the confirmation page of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid); the names and email addresses for two persons who can write letters of recommendation on his/her behalf; and an electronic copy of his/her most recent cumulative transcript (unofficial accepted). For this award only, the student is also required to submit the SAR (Student Aid Report) which is provided to him/her after his/her FAFSA is processed. If chosen as a finalist, the student will also be required to provide information on financial aid packages from schools he/she is considering attending. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. ET on the deadline date.
