Description: The Odessa and Tom J. Miller Vocational Scholarship is available for graduating seniors in Electra, Texas. Applicants must be planning to attend a two-year college for nursing or another vocational program.

Additional Information: The Odessa and Tom J. Miller Vocational Scholarship is provided annually through the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation, and seeks to assist northern Texas high school students who show a combination of academic achievement and unmet financial need. To be eligible for this scholarships, students must reside in and attend high school in Electra, Texas. Applicants must be planning to attend a two-year college with a vocational program in nursing, a trade certification, or other two-year program.

Award Amount: Award amounts may vary depending on each recipient's demonstrated financial need. Scholarships may be renewed for up to one additional year of study provided that the student remains in satisfactory academic standing.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

The Odessa and Tom J. Miller Vocational Scholarship has closed for 2019 but the deadline is expected to remain the same in 2020. Please check back in January when applications are scheduled to become available. Applications, instructions, and complete details about the Odessa and Tom J. Miller Vocational Scholarship are available online at the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation website. To be considered for a scholarship through the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation, students must first complete the online general application form. Upon completion, students will be notified of which individual scholarships they are eligible for, and what additional application materials (if any) are required to apply for each program. Students are advised to use Chrome or Firefox while completing the application, as it is not fully compatible with Internet Explorer. Finished applications must be submitted online by the deadline date for each scholarship the applicant wishes to be considered for.
