In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must enroll full time at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school in the upcoming fall semester.
  3. Must be a high school senior.
  4. Must attend school and live within 50 miles of a Simon® property. The applicant may search for eligible properties online at www.simon.com.
  5. Must be a legal U.S. resident.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. high school seniors who reside within 50 miles of a Simon® property. Students must plan to enroll full time in an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school in the upcoming fall semester, and must demonstrate academic promise and financial need.

Additional Information: To ensure complete impartiality in selection of recipients and to maintain a high level of professionalism, this program is administered by International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc., a firm that specializes in managing sponsored scholarship programs. Applicants will be evaluated based on academic promise, financial need, essay response, work experience, and community/extracurricular involvement. Scholarship checks will be issued in mid-July to each recipient's mailing address and made payable to the institution listed by the recipient on his/her scholarship application.

Award Amount: Up to $10,000 per year  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications are available online from the Simon Youth Foundation (SYF) website. Please note: Students must apply via the International Scholarship and Tuition Services (ISTS)-managed online application. As part of the online application, each student must provide the following supporting documents: short answer responses (100 words maximum) to five essay questions; the first two pages of the federal tax return of the person who claimed him/her as a dependent; and the Student Aid Report (SAR) generated after filing his/her FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CST the deadline date.
