Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of new awards is determined by the amount of investment income from the endowment and the number of continuing scholars.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Idaho.
  3. Must enroll full time. For purposes of this scholarship, full-time enrollment is defined as 14 or more credits per semester.
  4. Must plan to enroll or be enrolled at one of the following eligible Idaho institutions: Boise State University, Idaho State University, Lewis-Clark State College, or the University of Idaho.
  5. Must be a graduating high school senior or have graduated within the past seven years.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.6 or higher.
  8. Must graduate from Emmett High School in Idaho.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to Idaho high school students who are graduating or have graduated from Emmett High School within the past seven years with a grade point average of 2.6 or higher. Students must plan to attend an eligible Idaho institution and enroll in 14 or more credit hours per semester.

Additional Information: The Tschudy Family Scholarship is funded by investment income from a bequest by a longtime Emmett resident to provide scholarships for outstanding graduates of Emmett High School. Awards are based on academic merit, integrity, and financial need.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable for a total of five years of undergraduate study and two years of graduate study.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,500.

Applications are available from the Idaho Office of the State Board of Education (OSBE) website. In addition to the completed online application, the student must also upload the following materials to the online application: high school transcripts (in .pdf); transcripts of any college work taken (in .pdf); contact information for two individuals who will write letters of recommendation, one of which must a school official and the other an individual who is unrelated to the student; and an essay of 500 words or less detailing the student's extracurricular activities, leadership experiences, and reasons for his/her chosen study. Students must also complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
