Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards given each semester.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a declared major or minor in English, history, anthropology, sociology, psychology, Italian language/cultural studies, or education.
  2. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Description: Students with declared majors or minors in English, history, anthropology, sociology, psychology, Italian language/cultural studies, or education. Applicants with GPAs of 3.0 or higher attending a summer, fall, or spring Italy program are eligible. Two awards will be given each summer, and one award will be given each semester.

Additional Information: Frank and Carol Nota, the parents of USAC CEO, Alyssa Nota, were educators for over 35 years – touching the lives of thousands of students—and both were deeply committed to education, travel, family and their Italian heritage. They embodied and instilled in their 3 children the development of integrity and character that come from education – at home, abroad and in every part of one’s life. Degree-seeking students with a declared major or minor in English, history, anthropology, sociology, psychology, Italian language/cultural studies, or education and a minimum 3.0 GPA attending a summer, fall, or spring Italy program are eligible.

Award Amount: Two $500 awards will be given each summer, and one $1000 award will be given each semester.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
