Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two to four awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must demonstrate qualities of leadership.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  5. Must have work experience in a grocery store or other food retail business.

Description: This award is available for U.S. upperclass undergraduates who have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher, experience working in a grocery store or other food retailer, and a history of demonstrating leadership.

Additional Information: The Roger Collins Leadership scholarship is provided each year to college juniors and seniors who have experience working in a grocery store or other food retail outlet. Selection of recipients will be based on academic achievemnt, work history, and evidence of leadership potential.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,250.

Applications and information about this award can be found online at the National Grocers of America website and may be directly accessed by using the link provided. To be considered for this award, students must submit a completed application form as well as the following documents: a personal statement addressing the topic listed on the application; a letter of recommendation from a sponsor in the grocery industry or university faculty; and a college or university transcript (either an official or unofficial copy). All applications and supporting materials must be postmarked or emailed no later than the deadline date.
