In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a resident of Saline, Lafayette, Johnson, or Pettis Counties in Missouri.
  2. Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student.
  3. Must be majoring in a healthcare field of study.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.

Description: The I-70 Community Hospital Education Foundation Scholarship Fund is available for undergraduate and graduate students in Saline, Lafayette, Johnson, or Pettis Counties in Missouri who are majoring in a medical field of study.

Additional Information: The I-70 Community Hospital Education Foundation Scholarship Fund is provided annually to undergraduate and graduate students in the I-70 Corridor (Saline, Lafayette, Johnson, or Pettis Counties in Missouri) who are majoring in a healthcare field. Award selection will be based on a combination of academic merit, unmet financial need, and demonstrated commitment to pursuing a medical career in the I-70 Community Hospital service area. This scholarship is administered through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF), a local area charity founded in 1978 with the purpose of providing a dedicated and consolidated resource for diverse and otherwise unrelated charity efforts. From its humble beginnings, the scope of the GKCCF has expanded to include the broader regional area, as well as national inititatives, scholarships, and other programs designed to benefit communities across the country.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually. Awards will be paid out in equal installments of $1,000 per semester. Students may be eligible for renewal at the sole discretion of the scholarship committee.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications and information about the I-70 Community Hospital Education Foundation Scholarship Fund are available online at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF) website. To be considered for this scholarship, students must submit a completed online application form as well as the following documents and responses to the supplemental questions: a completed educational budget section of the application; an essay of up to 500 words in length addressing the topic on the application; a brief personal statement detailing any unusual circumstances or causes of financial need; and two letters of recommendation from someone who is not related to the applicant. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online by the deadline date. Any late or incomplete submissions will be discarded.
