Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.
  3. Must possess an active amateur radio license (any class).
  4. Must reside in the ARRL New England Division area (Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Maine).

Additional Information: The Byron Blanchard, N1EKV Memorial Scholarship is provided annually to amateur radio operators in New England. Students may major in any field of study and may attend any accredited college or university in the United States. Recipients are typically notified by mid-May by USPS mail and email.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications are available on the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Foundation website. Applications must be completed online. Students need only submit one application for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The student must provide contact information for one educational reference, one character reference, and one social reference on the online application. The student must also submit a copy of his/her academic transcript from his/her most recently completed school year to the email address provided. The transcript must be scanned and submitted as a PDF.
