Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.
  3. Must possess an active amateur radio license (any class).
  4. Must be a resident of Mississippi. If no suitable applicants are identified from Mississippi, then applicants who reside in the ARRL Delta Division area (AR, LA, TN, MS) will be considered.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to international and U.S. undergraduate and graduate students who are licensed radio amateurs. Students must be residents of Mississippi, or, if no eligible Mississippi students apply, residents of the ARRL Delta Division (AR, LA, MS, TN).

Additional Information: The Jackson County ARA Scholarship is provided annually to residents of and students attending a college or university in Louisiana. Applicants must have an amateur radio license class of technician or higher. Academic merit will be a factor in selection of award recipients. Recipients are typically notified by mid-May by USPS mail and email.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Foundation website. Applications must be completed online. Students need only submit one application for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The student must provide contact information for one educational reference, one character reference, and one social reference on the online application. The student must also submit a copy of his/her academic transcript from his/her most recently completed school year to the email address provided. The transcript must be scanned and submitted as a PDF.
