Description: This scholarship is open to high school juniors and seniors, college/university students, and graduate students. Applications will be judged on grade point average, economic hardship, and a demonstrated commitment to their heritage, community and society, among other factors.

Additional Information: The purpose of this scholarship is to reward a select number of deserving students for their academic and personal achievements. In addition to academic accomplishments, the scholarship provider is seeking candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to their heritage, community and society. Persistence, dedication, idealism, perseverance, success, and humility are just some of the characteristics which the scholarship provider had in mind when designing this scholarship. Note that this scholarship will not be determined solely on the basis of grade point average or economic hardship. The scholarship provider is seeking the most deserving candidate based on a multitude of factors. Applications will be evaluated and ranked on a rolling basis; thus, early submissions are highly encouraged. Results will be announced on or before July 31 and posted online.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. The scholarship will be in the form of a check payable to the recipient and may be applied towards past, present, or future tuition expenses. Previous recipients may reapply.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online on the Margarian Law website. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following: a resume of three pages or less that includes all relevant information such as grade point average, awards, prizes, publications, presentations, community/organization involvement, extracurricular activities, language proficiency, and other skills; a personal statement of three pages or less that includes additional information about himself/herself that the scholarship committee may consider to assess his/her application; transcripts for all academic programs which he/she has completed or in which he/she is currently enrolled, starting with high school; up to three letters of recommendation (cover sheets included in application); and three essays of 100 to 300 words each addressing the topics listed on the application. All application materials listed above must be submitted by mail to the address provided and must be postmarked by the deadline date. The student must also submit a photograph to be used in the event he/she is a scholarship recipient by email to scholarship@margarianlaw.com.
