Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must be diagnosed with low vision.
  4. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student.

Description: This scholarship is available for undergradaute and graduate students who have been diagnosed with low vision or blindness.

Additional Information: Semi-finalists will be selected to participate in a telephone interview with committee members and winners will be notified in late spring. Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the CCLVI annual conference and convention, which is held in conjunction with the American Council of the Blind National Conference and Convention and generally takes place the first week in July. Winners will be expected to attend CCLVI functions during this time.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and information about this award are available online at the Council of Citizens with Low Vision International (CCLVI) website using the provided link. To be considered for an award, applicants must complete the online application form. A completed application also includes the following documents: transcripts for all coursework completed; two letters of recommendation; a letter of acceptance to an accredited college or university; and verification of low vision. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online and must be received no later than the deadline date.
