Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on funding.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a legal resident of California.
  3. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and/or graduate award.
  4. Must attend postsecondary institution in California.
  5. Must be accepted or enrolled in one of the following health professions programs: dentist, dental hygienist, nurse practitioner, certified nurse midwife, physician assistant or clinical nurse specialist.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for California residents attending a college/university in the state of California with a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. Students must be currently accepted or enrolled into a field of dentist, dental hygienist, nurse practitioner, certified nurse midwife, physician assistant or clinical nurse specialist.

Application requirements for the Advanced Practice Healthcare Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Recipients must graduate after June 30 of the application year. Selection for the awards is based on the following criteria: work experience, financial need, career goals, community service, community background, and academic performance. Priority is given to applicants whose community background and commitment indicates the likelihood of long-term employment in a medically underserved area even after the service obligation has ended. Applicants who owe a service obligation to practice direct patient care to another entity entered into before filing an application with the foundation are ineligible to receive a scholarship. Recipients agree to a two-year service obligation practicing direct patient care at a qualified facility in California.

Award Amount: Up to $25,000 annually, rewarded up to three times.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $25,000.
