Number of Awards & Eligibility: Eight awards offered annually, two for each of the four yearly application cycles.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be admitted or enrolled in an eligible baccalaureate, master's, or doctoral program.
  3. Must plan to attend or currently attend an AACN member institution affiliated with CastleBranch (list available at https://www.aacnnursing.org/Portals/42/Student/CB_Schools.pdf) OR have submitted their nursing school application via NursingCAS (see https://nursingcas.liaisoncas.com/applicant-ux/#/login).
  4. Must maintain a grade point average of 3.2 or higher in his/her current program or at last school attended.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. and international nursing students in baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral programs with a grade point average of 3.2 or higher are eligible for this award. Eligible applicants must be admitted or enrolled in a nursing school affiliated with CertifiedBackground.com or have submitted their application through NursingCAS.

Additional Information: Due to the volume of applications received, only winners will be notified of final decisions. All winners will be announced in the AACN News Watch e-newsletter and posted on the AACN website.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $40,000.

Applications are available online from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) website. As part of the completed online application, the applicant must submit an essay of no more than 250 words on his/her goals and aspirations as they relate to his/her education, career, and future plans. There are four application deadlines annually: January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31.
