Additional Information: Since 1942, Science Service has been in the business of making dreams come true through the science talent search. Each year, this nationwide competition encourages talented high school seniors to pursue careers in science, math, engineering and medicine. It is strongly advised that the entire rules document be read completely by entrants, teachers, and interested parties to ensure that rules and expectations are thoroughly understood and met. Of the entries received, 300 students will be named as semifinalists. Additional review of applications will begin at this time, so that those 300 entries may be narrowed down further, to 40 finalists. The 40 Regeneron Science Talent Search Finalists will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., to attend the Science Talent Institute in March 2019. The five-day visit will include the final in-depth judging process, visits to historic sites and cultural institutions, and meetings with national leaders and prominent scientists and engineers. Please note: Participation in the Science Talent Institute is a requirement of the competition. The Science Talent Institute culminates in a black-tie banquet honoring the forty finalists, to be held in March 2018. The evening will conclude with the announcement of the top nine scholarship winners of the Annual Science Talent Search. Sons and daughters of Science Service employees, search evaluators or judges are not eligible to enter the competition.
