In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be a resident of Buxton or Hollis, Maine.
  5. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  6. Must attend the University of Maine.
  7. Must major in nursing or pre-medicine.

Additional Information: The University of Maine's residency scholarships are intended to attract and retain top academic achievers from diverse areas of Maine and surrounding states who seek intellectual stimulation and opportunities for personal development. This award, sponsored by Buxton-Hollis Community Hospital, Inc., is for students who reside in the towns of Buxton or Hollis, Maine and pursuing a major in nursing or pre-medicine.

Award Amount: $1,000 to $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.
