Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. In the 2012-2013 academic year (the most recent for which data is available), there were 786 awards given.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Wisconsin.
  3. Must be at least 25 percent Native American or be an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe.
  4. Must attend an eligible college or university in Wisconsin.
  5. Must enroll on a part-time basis or greater.
  6. Must be a high school senior or current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a degree or certificate program.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Additional Information: This program provides need-based grants to Wisconsin residents who are at least 25 percent Native American and are undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in degree or certificate programs at University of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Technical College, independent colleges and universities, tribal colleges, or proprietary institutions based in Wisconsin. Awards are based on financial need. Financial need is generally defined as the difference between the cost of attendance and the student's expected family contribution (EFC). The EFC is determined by using the information reported in the FAFSA.

Award Amount: Awards range from $250 to $1,100 annually, renewable for up to five years (10 semesters).  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $917.
