Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must plan to pursue a career in K-12 teaching.
  2. Must plan to major in education.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must graduate from a Baltimore, MD public high school.
  6. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors in Baltimore Maryland who plan to pursue a career in education. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher at the time of application.

Application requirements for the Baltimore City Retired Public School Employees Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Funded by the Retired Public School Teachers of Baltimore, and provided by the Baltimore Community Foundation, this scholarship is awarded each year to a local area high school senior who demonstrates academic merit. Applicants must plan to teach in a K-12 setting upon graduation from college or university.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

To access the application for these awards, the student must first register an online account.Information is available online at the CollegeBound Foundation website. Applications are only available online through the STARS online portal.In addition to completing the CollegeBound Foundation Competitive Scholarship Application, the applicant must also submit the following: two letters of recommendation; a copy of his/her college acceptance letter(s); a typed essay addressing the topic listed on the application (if applicable); community service verification(s) (if applicable); and a copy of his/her recent high school transcript, including the first semester of the senior year.All application materials must be received by the deadline.
