Number of Awards & Eligibility: One or more scholarships will be provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This scholarship is for Latino and Latina students.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  3. Must reside in and attend high school in Ventura County, California.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher and unmet financial need.

Description: The Destino Scholarship Fund is available for Latina and Latino high school seniors who are graduating from a high school in Ventura County, California. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher and unmet financial need.

Additional Information: The Destino Scholarship Fund provides scholarships annually in partnership with the Ventura County Community Foundation. Awards are available to local area students of Latino heritage. Selection of scholarship recipients will be based on a combination of academic achievement, unmet financial need, and demonstrated potential for giving back to the community through the four aspects of Destino's goals: education, health and wellness, literacy.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications for the Destino Scholarship Fund are available online at the Ventura County Community Foundation website. To apply for an award, students must complete all sections of the online application form. Applicants must also submit an original essay in response to the award's topic, as well as two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted by a current faculty member at the school the student is attending. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
