Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors at Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine. Applicants must attend a four-year college or university.

Additional Information: This scholarship was established in 1997 by partners of the law firm of Linnell, Choate, and Webber to honor Justice Donald W. Webber. Justice Webber was born in Auburn, then graduated from Edward Little High School in 1923 and Bowdoin College in 1927. After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1931, he returned to Maine to practice. Each year, the Donald W. Webber Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support for graduating seniors at Edward Little High School who are attending a four-year college. Recipients in good academic standing are invited to apply for renewal consideration during their sophomore year.

Award Amount: Award amounts vary based on the funds available, the number of recipients selected, and individual financial need. Previous recipients may reapply one additional time, prior to their sophomore year of college.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available by contacting the guidance office at Edward Little High School using the following contact information: 77 Harris St., Auburn ME 04210. Students may also contact the school by phone at 207-667-0447. Renewal applicants who have completed one year of academic study may apply for additional years of funding by using the online application portal available on the Maine Community foundation website. All applications must be received no later than the deadline date - and it is recommended that initial applications be turned in 3-4 business days prior to that to ensure proper time for final processing at the Edward Little High School guidance offices.
