Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided each year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in and attend school in Douglas County, Washington.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  3. Must be planning to major in environmental engineering or a related environmental field.

Description: The Douglas County Waste Management Environmental Studies College Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors in Douglas County, Washington who are planning to major in environmental engineering or a related environmental degree.

Additional Information: The Douglas County Waste Management Environmental Studies College Scholarship was established in 2005 to provide financial support for local area students who plan to major in environmental engineering or a related environmental studies program. Awards are administered and applications are provided by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington. Award selection will be based on a combination of academic merit, unmet financial need, and demonstrated enthusiasm for pursuing a major and career in a field related to environmental studies. Scholarship recipients will be notified shortly after the deadline date and will be required to provide additional documentation proving eligibility.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable. All funds will be deposited directly with the school of the recipient's choice.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.
