Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be awarded each year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a graduating high school senior or community college student.
  2. Must reside in Ventura County, CA.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher.
  4. Must be majoring in or planning to major in agriculture.

Description: The Leo and Rita Vanoni Scholarship Fund is available for graduating high school seniors and community college students in Ventura County, CA who are majoring in agriculture. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher.

Additional Information: The Leo and Rita Vanoni Scholarship Fund is provided annually in cooperation with the Ventura County Community Foundation and seeks to provide financial assistance to local area students who are interested in pursuing a major in agriculture. Applicants must demonstrate unmet financial need, high levels of academic achievement, and a passion for the field of agriculture.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications for and additional details about the Leo and Rita Vanoni Scholarship Fund are available online at the Ventura County Community Foundation website. To apply for this scholarship, students must complete all sections of the online application form. Applicants must also submit an original essay in response to the award's topic, as well as two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted by a current faculty member at the school the student is attending. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
