Number of Awards & Eligibility: Ten awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international students.
  2. Must be a full-time student.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher.
  4. Must plan to attend Menlo College in Atherton, California.
  5. Must be a high school senior (or its equivalent) OR a first-time undergraduate applicant at time of application.
  6. Must plan to attend a college or university in California.

Description: This scholarship is available for international students planning to attend Menlo College in Atherton, California, who are high school seniors (or the equivalent) or first-time applicants. Students must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher.

Additional Information: Merit scholarships are available to all international students who qualify, signifying Menlo College's strong commitment to educating students from all around the world.

Award Amount: $18,000 to $22,000 annually, renewable for up to three years if the student maintains a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. The amount of the award is determined by the student's academic achievement in high school or prior college work.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $76,000.

Students apply for this scholarship by applying for admission to Menlo College. No separate scholarship application is required. The admissions application is available online on the MC website in online and downloadable paper formats. In addition to the admissions application, the student must submit the following: a $40 application fee; a personal statement of 200 words or less addressing the topics listed on the MC website; one letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor; official transcripts from all high schools and/or colleges attended; scores from the SAT, ACT, TOEFL, EIKEN, or IELTS; a 'Certification of Finances' form; and a 'Transfer Evaluation Form', if appropriate. Admissions applications are accepted throughout the year; however, priority consideration for admission and scholarships is given to applicants who submit applications by the following dates: Nov. 15 for Early Action consideration; Jan. 15 for the fall semester; Dec. 1 for the spring semester.
