Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be awarded each year the program is offered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in and attend a high school in Moorpark, California.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior.

Description: The Paul W. Lawrason, Jr. Scholarship Fund is available for graduating seniors in Moorpark California who demonstrate community participation through involvement in school and local activities. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The Paul W. Lawrason, Jr. Scholarship Fund, provided in conjuction with the Ventura County Community Foundation, is awarded annually to residents of Moorpark, California. Applicants must be graduating seniors at a Moorpark city high school, and must demonstrate high levels of academic achievement as well as participation in the community as evidenced by involvement in school and community activities and organizations.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications for the Paul W. Lawrason, Jr. Scholarship Fund are available online at the Ventura County Community Foundation (VCCF) website. To apply for this scholarship, students must complete all sections of the online application form. Applicants must also submit an original essay in response to the award's topic, as well as two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted by a current faculty member at the school the student is attending. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
