Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in and attend high school in Moorpark, California.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior at the time of application.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be planning to enroll full time at a four-year college or university.

Description: The Second Century Legacy Fund Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors in Moorpark, California. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must be planning to enroll full-time in an accredited four-year college or university.

Additional Information: The Second Century Legacy Fund Scholarship is provided annually through a partnership with the Ventura County Community Foundation. The goal of this scholarship program is to provide financial assistance and encouragement for Moorpark area high school seniors who are planning to pursue a degree at an accredited four-year college or university. Award selection will be based primarily on the applicant's demonstrated academic achievements as well as the responses contained within the essay section of the application.

Award Amount: $1000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications for and additional details about the Second Century Legacy Fund Scholarship are available online at the Ventura County Community Foundation website. To apply for this scholarship, students must complete all sections of the online application form. Applicants must also submit an original essay in response to the award's topic, as well as two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted by a current faculty member at the school the student is attending. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
