Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is based on the number of eligible applicants and available funding.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be an incoming first-time freshman. The student must not have attended another college after high school graduation.
  4. Must plan to attend the University of Oregon.
  5. Must plan to enroll full time.
  6. Must have a high school grade point average of 3.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Please note: Students who receive an International Baccalaureate diploma at the completion of high school may waive the minimum grade point average requirement.
  7. Must have an SAT score of 1260 or higher (critical reading and math only) OR an ACT score of 26 or higher.
  8. Must attend a college or university in Oregon.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. students who are incoming freshmen at the University of Oregon. Students must have a grade point average of 3.8 or higher (or have earned an International Baccalaureate diploma) and have an SAT score of 1260 or higher or an ACT score of 26 or higher.

Additional Information: Summit Scholarships reward scholars for reaching the peak of high school achievement. The Summit Scholarship can be combined with other UO scholarships, including the Presidential, Diversity Excellence, and General University Scholarships. Summit Scholarships may not be combined with the Apex Scholarship.

Award Amount: $4,000 annually for Oregon residents and $10,000 annually for out-of-state students. Awards are renewable for three additional years, or four additional years for students enrolled in five-year programs (BFA (Fine Arts), BLA (Landscape Architecture), BIARC (Interior Architecture), and BARCH (Architecture)). To renew the award, the student must maintain a UO grade point average of 3.0 or higher and complete 12 credits per term (36 credits per year).  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.

Scholarship information is available online on the University of Oregon (UO) website. To apply for this scholarship, the student must apply for admission to UO by Jan. 15. A separate scholarship application is not required. Admissions information is available online at admissions.uoregon.edu/freshmen. All admissions documents must be received by UO by Feb. 15. Required admission documents include the following: official high school transcripts; ACT and/or SAT scores (sent directly from the testing service or included on transcripts); an application essay of 500 words or less sharing information that is not included elsewhere in his/her application; and an explanation of personal circumstances that affected academic performance (optional).
