Additional Information: Students may earn their associate's degrees from the following institutions: Dixie State University, Salt Lake Community College, Snow College, Southern Utah University, University of Utah (Equivalent Certification), Utah State University, Utah State University Eastern, Utah Valley University, or Weber State University. Please note: Students can also complete the specified math and science curriculum at these institutions in lieu of completing an associate's degree. Details on the curriculum are available on the USBOR website. Students must earn a minimum of 48 credit hours under this option. It is important that students who plan to apply for the New Century Scholarship understand they must coordinate and work closely with the college/university from which they are earning the associate degree, which is only one part of meeting the scholarship requirements. The applicant must understand that the college/university does not grant or manage the New Century Scholarship program. The New Century Scholarship is administered under the direction of the Utah State Board of Regents. Thus a student must meet both the institutional requirements for earning an associate degree, while also meeting the scholarship requirements as set forth by the Utah State Board of Regents. An eligible student must have no criminal record except minor traffic citations.

Award Amount: Up to $1,250 per semester ($2,500 annually), renewable for up to 60 credits or 4 semesters, whichever occurs first. Please note: Award amounts are determined on an annual basis and are subject to legislative funding and the total number of qualified participants. Therefore, award amounts may be reduced, may vary from year to year, and are dependent on when the recipient is enrolled in college.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
