Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a resident of Ventura County, California for a minimum five years.
  2. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a career technical education program for certification (not an associate’s degree) located in Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, or Los Angeles County or in a Certificate Program at a community college in Ventura County, Santa Barbara County, or Los Angeles County.

Description: The Ventura County Career and Technical Education Scholarship Fund is available for residents of Ventura County, California who are currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in a vocational or technical training program.

Additional Information: The Ventura County Career and Technical Education Scholarship Fund is provided annually through the Ventura County Community Foundation and seeks to provide financial assistance for local area students who are pursuing a vocational or technical education. Students must be long-time residents of Ventura county and must demonstrate unmet financial need. Although students are not required to be currently graduating high school seniors, they must have been previously enrolled at a public or private high school in Ventura County, California.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications and additional information for the Ventura County Career and Technical Education Scholarship Fund are available online at the Ventura County Community Foundation website. To apply for an award, students must complete all sections of the online application form. Applicants must also submit an original essay in response to the award's topic, as well as two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted by a current faculty member at the school the student is attending. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
