Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior who has been accepted to a college or university to pursue an undergraduate degree.
  4. Must attend a metropolitan Atlanta (GA) high school.
  5. Must have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  6. Must have an SAT score (math and critical reading) of 1000 or higher OR an ACT composite score of 22 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors who attend a metropolitan Atlanta (GA) high school. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and an SAT score (math and critical reading) of 1000 or higher or an ACT composite score of 22 or higher.

Additional Information: Scholarships are awarded on a nondiscriminatory basis after careful review of eligible applications. Award recommendations are approved by The Community Foundation's Board of Directors, and scholarship awards are paid directly to the educational institutions where the successful candidates are enrolled.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available online on The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta website. Please note: Students may apply for all scholarships for which they are eligible within the online application. A separate application must be created for each scholarship for which the student wishes to apply. Each student must upload the following documents to the online application: a high school or college transcript, depending on his/her current level of study; and a copy of his/her Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR is generated by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Each student must also provide contact information for two people who will submit letters of recommendation on his/her behalf. Recommendations must come from teachers, school personnel, or other adults who know the student well and can attest to his/her merits. Recommendations cannot come from family members. An email will be sent to each recommender with instructions for submission of the letter of recommendation. All application materials must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. EST on the deadline date.
