Veterans’ Disability Lawyers at Fight4Vets are thrilled to announce The Dependent Scholarship! As a firm dedicated to improving the lives of disabled veterans, we are happy to provide a scholarship to the community which encourages military members and their families to pursue their education.
The truth is, many harsh realities can come with serving in the military such as, being away from loved ones, physical injuries, and emotional harm, to name a few. However, the military has also provided some much-needed structure and support for individuals and their families. Often, people’s lives improve with the skills and relationships they gain from serving.
For this $1,000 scholarship, we would like to focus on the positive aspect of serving, and we ask students and veterans to analyze how their life enhanced because of the military. Students on active duty, their close family members, and veterans are invited to apply. Tell us about your experience related to the military or how growing up in a military family has positively affected your life.
At Chad Jones Law, we see firsthand the effects an injury has on individuals and the perseverance they show along their recovery process. It is common for victims of an injury to feel a sense of hopelessness, but as time passes, people realize they are capable of more than they could ever imagine, and new potential unfolds. After years of being in this work, we continue to be inspired by the individuals who overcame injuries and the doors they opened up along the way. For that reason, we are proud to announce our Open Door Scholarship!

Even the most successful artists grapple with questions like “am I good enough?” or “will people like this?” If you’re a creative student who has ever struggled with these questions, we encourage you to apply for this scholarship! The personal injury attorneys at Felix Gonzalez Law Firm have dedicated their practice to protecting those who have been injured due to the negligence of others. We care about everyone’s safety, especially cyclists on the road. This year, we are offering a scholarship to promote safe cycling.
Cyclists are faced with many distractions and dangers on the road. It is important for citizens to take precautions while on the roads, not only for themselves but for others around them. For example, in San Antonio, the city is considering extra precautions to ensure safe conditions by expanding bike lanes.
For this scholarship, please explain how governmental measures, like bike lanes, can help prevent accidents in your community. Discuss old and new laws, education around the dangers of cycling in an unsafe space, and if you think more could be done to ensure the safety of cyclists.
Once all submissions have been received, the entries will be reviewed, and one student will be selected to receive a $1,000 award. The award will be given to the person who best describes the effect of safe cycling in their community and/or changes that are being implemented.
The Problem: We’ve been in the scholarship world for over two decades! In that time we have seen the explosion of fake, scammy and downright misleading scholarships. Back when we started, spotting a scholarship scam was easy. They always charged a fee for entry. That’s how they made money. But today your personal information is more valuable than a fee. Even worse than trading your personal information to apply for a scholarship is the fact that many of these scholarships are never even awarded.
Back in the day you mailed (as in through the post office) application forms and something called a SASE. What the heck is a SASE? It’s short for Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope or basically an envelope with your address on it as well as a stamp. This way the scholarship organization could just drop the letter in the mail to let you know they received your application. Also, if they were really on the ball they would send you a list of winners once the scholarship was over. So why in the 21st century do most students submit their application online and then never hear a thing from scholarship providers? This is worse than in the old days and is unacceptable in our opinion.
Our Solution: We started Verified Scholarships as a solution to this problem. By verifying all scholarships, we guarantee that the awards you find are worth your time to apply. We also encourage scholarship providers to improve their programs from the perspective of the applicant. Make the award details clear and easy to find. Publish a list of winners on a regular basis. And, please communicate regularly with applicants. The internet has made finding awards much easier. But applying still takes the same amount of time as before. Therefore, we believe that all scholarship providers should have the interest of their applicants as priority number one.
We hope you find Verified Scholarships useful and remember that everything on our site is free for you — the user. If you want to get involved, there is one favor you can do for us. While our staff of superstar scholarship verifiers are working every day, they cannot match the collective power of our users. If you see an issue with any scholarship in our database, please use the “Error Report” link next to the scholarship listing to let us know. Together we will create a world where only verified scholarships thrive!
