Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five national scholarship awards are offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution (kindergarten through graduate school) in the United States.
  4. Must have demonstrated on-going commitment to his/her community by performing unpaid volunteer services impacting hunger in the United States within the last 12 months or longer. Volunteer services must help non-family members.
  5. Must be between the ages of 5 and 25.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. students who are enrolled in an accredited educational institution (kindergarten through graduate school) in the United States are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Students must have demonstrated commitment to their community by performing volunteer services impacting hunger within the last 12 months.

Application requirements for the Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships are:

  • Community service recommendation
Additional Information: Employees of Sodexo are not eligible to apply for the Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships; but they may refer family members who are not employees of Sodexo. Previous national Stop Hunger Scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply. Previous regional Stop Hunger Honorees are eligible to apply.

Award Amount: Each student selected as a Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarship recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship, as well as a $5,000 grant made in his/her name to the hunger-related charity of his/her choice in his/her local community. If the student selected is in school, but is not yet enrolled in an institution of higher education, then in lieu of a scholarship, a contribution in the amount of $5,000 shall be made to a qualified 529 Plan established by the family of that student for the benefit of that student. All scholarship awards are offered annually and are non-renewable.Each national scholarship recipient will be recognized at the annual Sodexo Foundation Dinner in Washington, D.C. All transportation, meals, and lodging for the student and up to two immediate family members will be paid for by Sodexo.Each student selected as a regional Stop Hunger Honoree will receive a $1,000 grant made in their name to the hunger-related charity of their choice in their local community.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $25,000.
