  3. Must be a high school, undergraduate, or graduate student.

Additional Information: As people spend more and more of their free time online, it is increasingly important to understand the physical and psychological effects of technology on our lives. DigitalResponsibility.org provides this annual scholarship to encourage students to think about the benefits of taking breaks from the screen and unplugging when possible. The winner and runner-up will be selected from the 10 semi-finalist essays based on a combination of content quality and creativity.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Additional information is available on the provider's website. Students must complete the online application form and compose a 140-character message responding to the following prompt: Instead of spending time with technology, I'd rather.... The top ten applications will be selected as finalists and be asked to write an essay (500 to 1,000 words) about technology addiction. The online application and short response must be submitted by the deadine date.
