Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have at least a 2.5 GPA.
  2. Must be an incoming freshman at an HBCU.
  3. Must be a resident of Washington DC, Maryland or Northern Virginia.
  4. Must be a member of a church or community-based organization.
  5. Must complete a Community Service Project (Minimum: 40hrs).

Description: The HBCU Council of Shiloh Baptist Church offers the Evelyn Hider A & B HBCU Scholarship Awards to two incoming freshmen at an HBCU with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and financial need.

Additional Information: Eligibility is limited to applicants who meet all of the following criteria: Qualified applicants must be: • A resident of Washington DC, Maryland or Northern Virginia • A member of a church or community-based organization • Complete a Community Service Project (Minimum: 40hrs) • Must obtain two Letters of Recommendation (Teacher/Counselor, Pastor/Church Official, Community Organization) • Obtain official high school/college transcripts

Award Amount: $1,000 scholarships offered  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
