Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  2. Must be a resident of Baltimore, MD.
  3. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must demonstrate a commitment to community service.

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors in Baltimore, MD who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to community service. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Application requirements for the Baltimore Rotary Service Above Self Award Program are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: Provided annually by the Baltimore Rotary Club, this scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who demonstrates an exceptional commitment to community service.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Information is available online at the CollegeBound Foundation website. Applications are only available online through the online portal. In addition to completing the CollegeBound Foundation Competitive Scholarship Application, the applicant must also submit the following: two letters of recommendation; a copy of his/her college acceptance letter(s); a typed essay describing the applicant's community service activities, such as volunteer participation in a neighborhood or school program, service club, or social agency; community service verification(s); and a copy of his/her most recent high school transcript, including the first semester of the senior year. All application materials must be submitted online by the deadline.
