Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a current graduate school student or a graduate school candidate.
  3. Must enroll at a Kansas college or university.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must pursue a graduate course of study with a concentration in accounting, as defined by Kansas statutes and the Rules and Regulations of the Kansas Board of Accountancy.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to current and incoming graduate students at Kansas colleges/universities who have a concentration in accounting. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of undergraduate academic performance; potential for success in graduate studies; leadership; and participation in community, charitable, university, governmental and/or other civic activities.

Application requirements for the Byron Bird Graduate Scholarship are:

  • Resume
  • Photo
Additional Information: The Byron Bird scholarship is named for and originally funded by Byron Bird, CPA, the first recipient of the American Institute of CPAs National Public Service Award. The Board of Trustees of the Educational Foundation selects the scholarship recipient. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of undergraduate academic performance; potential for success in graduate studies; leadership; and participation in community, charitable, university, governmental and/or other civic activities. The recipient of this scholarship is not eligible for any other scholarship awarded by the Educational Foundation of the KSCPA in the same school year.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
