Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a high school senior.
  4. Must be graduating from any high school in southern Idaho (south of the Salmon River), with first preference given to any student who has resided in Gooding or Camas counties for at least one year prior to application.
  5. Must enroll full time.
  6. Must plan to enroll as a first-year student at any public or private junior college, college, university, vocational, or technical school in the state of Idaho.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors who are graduating from any high school in southern Idaho (south of the Salmon River), with first preference given to any student who has resided in Gooding or Camas counties for at least one year prior to application; students must plan to attend an Idaho postsecondary institution. Academic achievement, leadership potential, school/community involvement, and financial need will be considered when judging applicants.

Additional Information: Academic achievement, leadership potential, school/community involvement, and financial need will be considered when judging applicants; no minimum grade point average is required. Some scholarships will be based solely on merit, while others will be based on both merit and financial need.

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually. Awards are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,600.

Applications are available on the Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) website. Please note: The student may apply for all scholarships for which he/she is qualified; however, a separate application and supplemental materials must be submitted for each scholarship. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: five one-page essays addressing the topics listed on the application; a copy of his/her most recent high school transcript, report card, or unofficial/uncertified college transcript; a copy of his/her FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid); two letters of recommendation describing his/her character, personality traits, and academic achievements (one of which must be from a teacher, counselor, or school administrator and the other of which must be from a community leader, employer, or family friend who has had an opportunity to personally observe his/her character and initiative); and a one- to two-page (typed, 12-point font, double-spaced) essay explaining why he/she should be considered for this scholarship. Applications must be emailed to the address provided by the deadline date.
