Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of eligible applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be an incoming first-time-in-college freshman.
  3. Must plan to attend the University of North Florida.
  4. Must have a UNF recalculated grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  5. Must be a resident of Putnam County, Florida.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  7. Must have a demonstrated commitment to community service.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. high school seniors who are residents of Putnam County, Fla., and planning to attend the University of North Florida. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher, demonstrate financial need, and have demonstrated a commitment to community service.

  • Personal statement
Additional Information: Students must demonstrate financial need. Financial need is determined by a student's campus cost of attendance minus the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as calculated from the FAFSA, and other aid received. Students may be required to schedule a scholarship interview. Such students will be provided with the date and time for the interview. Current UNF students and transfer students are not eligible to apply. Recipients must enroll in a business ethics class prior to their junior year.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, renewable for three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $9,000.

Application information is available from the University of North Florida (UNF) website. The scholarship application is available through the student's UNF myWings account. In order to submit a scholarship application, the student must have a completed admissions application on file. Admissions information is available online at www.unf.edu/admissions/. A step-by-step tutorial for submitting the scholarship application is available on the UNF website. Please note: The student needs to submit only one scholarship application. Each applicant will automatically be considered for all scholarships for which he/she qualifies. In addition to a completed application, the student must also submit the following materials: a resume; one letter of recommendation from a teacher, employer, counselor, etc.; and a one-page personal statement addressing the topics listed on the UNF website. These documents must be emailed using the contact information provided. The student must also complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. All required scholarship application materials, including the FAFSA, must be submitted by Oct. 15 for priority consideration. Applications will continue to be accepted and reviewed after that date, but only on a funds-available basis.
