Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship will be provided annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in and attend high school in Simi Valley or Moorpark, California.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate a commitment to community service.

Description: The Vicky Howard Community Service Award is available for graduating high school seniors in Simi Valley and Moorpark, California. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and a history of community service involvement.

Additional Information: The Vicky Howard Community Service Award is provided annually to graduating seniors in Moorpark and Simi Valley who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to community service. Applicants must also show a strong history of academic achievement and intend to enroll on a full-time basis at an accredited four-year college or university.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications for the Vicky Howard Community Service Award are available online at the Ventura County Community Foundation website. To apply for an award, students must complete all sections of the online application form. Applicants must also submit an original essay in response to the award's topic, as well as two letters of recommendation. At least one letter of recommendation must be submitted by a current faculty member at the school the student is attending. All applications and supporting documents must be received by the deadline date.
