Description: The Arlene Birdsell Martin Teaching Scholarship is available for students who are graduating from Wenatchee Valley College and planning to pursue a four-year degree. Applicants must be majoring in education and pursuing a career as a teacher.

Application requirements for the Arlene Birdsell Martin Teaching Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The Community Foundation of North Central Washington administers more than one hundred scholarships for students residing throughout Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties. For the Arlene Birdsell Martin Teaching Scholarship, applicants must be finishing a two-year teaching degree at Wenatchee Valley College. Applicants must also plan to pursue a four-year degree in teaching at any accredited college or university. The selection of scholarship recipients is based primarily on a combination of academic achievements, strength of recommendations, and unmet fianncial need as calculated by the applicant's expected financial contribution. Recipients will be notified in early May and will be required to provide additional documentation such as a signed scholarship agreement and verification of enrollment.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually. All funds will be deposited directly with the school of the recipient's choice. Previous recipients may re-apply, but renewal is not guaranteed.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
