Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must reside in Addison County, Vermont. The student must also graduate from an Addison County high school, OR be a homeschooled or GED recipient who would otherwise have graduated from an Addison County high school.
  4. Must be a high school senior who will earn a diploma or GED by the start of the upcoming school year.
  5. Must enroll full time in an undergraduate program.
  6. Must demonstrate academic achievement with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Description: This scholarship is open to high school seniors who reside and attend a high school in Addison County, Vermont, and plan to attend an accredited college/university in Vermont. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and demonstrate financial need and community involvement and/or service.

Additional Information: This scholarship was created to assist graduating high school seniors from Addison County who demonstrate strong financial need and high academic achievement, and who are committed to attending and succeeding in college. Applicants must also demonstrate community involvement and/or service. Please note: This scholarship is funded by an endowment subject to laws restricting disbursements under certain investment yield scenarios; as a result, there can be no guarantee of a scholarship award for the upcoming academic year. Selection is based on financial need, application documents, and academic achievement. There are approximately 47 applicants for this award each year.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 annually, may be renewable for up to one additional year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available from the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) website. Applications may be completed either online or in paper form beginning on November 1. Please note: The student is only required to submit one application for all scholarships for which he/she wishes to apply. In addition, if a particular document is required for more than one scholarship, the student need only submit one copy of that document. To apply, the student must complete and submit the VSAC Unified Scholarship Application and submit the following materials: a letter of recommendation; an essay; and official transcripts. NOTE: Required additional materials MUST conform to the detailed instructions in the VSAC Scholarships Booklet. The student is highly encouraged to review the booklet thoroughly when assembling materials. Electronic applications and any digital versions of supplemental materials must be submitted by midnight on the deadline date. Paper applications or any supplemental materials in paper form must be postmarked by the deadline date.
