Pi Lambda Theta

Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of college students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year. Last year, six awards were disbursed.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
  3. Must be a member of Pi Lambda Theta in good standing.
  4. Must be enrolled at a regionally accredited institution during the year following the award to apply for this undergraduate award.
  5. Must be enrolled full time or part time (three semester hours or more).

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for members of Pi Lambda Theta that are in good standing. Interested applicants should have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher to qualify.

Additional Information: An applicant must not be currently serving on the board of directors of Pi Lambda Theta, Inc. or the Pi Lambda Theta Educational Endowment. Recipients are selected by the scholarship committee. Applicants are notified of the committee's decision by July 1.

Award Amount: $750 annually, non-renewable. This amount is disbursed directly to an accredited college or university on behalf of the recipient.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $750.

Applications are available on the Pi Lambda Theta website. Interested applicants must submit: a Pi Lambda Theta universal application/nomination cover sheet; an official college transcript for the academic program of study in which the student is currently enrolled (or if not currently enrolled, the most recent), verifying the student's grade point average; and a 100- to 200-word essay of the applicant's personal philosophy of teaching/learning (over-length essays may be disqualified). The completed application must be completed online no later than the deadline date.
