Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be a resident of Vermont.
  4. Must be an incoming or current postsecondary student. Students pursuing any type of postsecondary training/education (certificate, degree, etc.) are eligible.
  5. Must be a dependent of a member of the Vermont Sheriffs' Association.
  6. Must demonstrate academic achievement.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to Vermont undergraduate and graduate students who are dependents of a member of the Vermont Sheriffs' Association. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement, financial need, and school/community involvement.

Additional Information: This scholarship was created to honor former Windham County Sheriff William Graham, who has exemplified outstanding public service and community leadership throughout his life. Applicants must meet the following criteria: attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding; demonstrate financial need; and demonstrate school/community involvement. Selection is based on application documents, academic achievement, and financial need. There are approximately 10 applicants for this award each year.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available from the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) website. Applications may be completed either online or in paper form beginning on November 1. Please note: The student is only required to submit one application for all scholarships for which he/she wishes to apply. In addition, if a particular document is required for more than one scholarship, the student need only submit one copy of that document. To apply, the student must complete and submit the VSAC Unified Scholarship Application and submit the following materials: a letter of recommendation; an essay; and official transcripts. NOTE: Required additional materials MUST conform to the detailed instructions in the VSAC Scholarships Booklet. The student is highly encouraged to review the booklet thoroughly when assembling materials. Electronic applications and any digital versions of supplemental materials must be submitted by midnight on the deadline date. Paper applications or any supplemental materials in paper form must be postmarked by the deadline date.
