Number of Awards & Eligibility: 15 to 25 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be the son, daughter, stepchild or grandchild of a regular, reserve, retired or deceased officer or enlisted member who has served or who is now serving with the Naval Construction Force (Seabees) or Navy Civil Engineer Corps, or who has served, but has since been honorably discharged.
  4. Must enroll as a full-time student.
  5. Must be a high school senior or a current undergraduate student at time of application.
  6. Must have a parent, step-parent, or grandparent who was a regular, reserve, retired or deceased officer or enlisted member who has served or who is now serving with the Naval Construction Force (Seabees) or Navy Civil Engineer Corps, or who has served, but has since been honorably discharged.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Seabee Memorial Scholarship is given to children and grandchildren of regular, reserve, retired, or deceased officers or enlisted members who have served or who are now serving with the Naval Construction Force. Scholarship awards are based on financial need, character, good citizenship, leadership, and scholastic record.

Application requirements for the Seabee Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Student Aid Report (SAR)
  • Tax returns
  • FAFSA
Additional Information: The basis of this award is financial need, scholastic record, leadership, good citizenship and character. Selections are made by the SMSA Scholarship Selection Committee which includes active, reserve and retired officers and enlisted personnel, the Master Chief of the Seabees, a Seabee Veterans of America representative and a member of the Naval CEC Wives Club.

Award Amount: The award amount varies, but is approximately $3,100 annually, renewable for an additional three years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $46,500.

Applications will be available on January 2 and are due April 15. The application must be postmarked by the deadline date.
