Asian Pacific Islanders for Professional and Community Advancement (APCA)

Number of Awards & Eligibility: 28 national awards offered annually. An applicant from California, Nevada, Georgia, Hawaii, Missouri, Washington DC metro area, Texas, Washington, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, and New Jersey who does not receive a national award will be considred for a local award.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be enrolled full time in an accredited undergraduate program in the United States.
  4. Must have made a contribution to the Asian/Pacific American community.
  5. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  6. Must reside in one of the states or regions with an active APCA chapter: Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Washington, D.C
  7. Must have a grade point average of 3.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale OR 4.25 on a 5.0 scale.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are currently enrolled as high school seniors. Students must have made a contribution to the Asian/Pacific American community and reside in one of the nine states or regions with an active Asian Pacific Islanders for Professional and Community Advancement (APCA) chapter.

Application requirements for the InspirASIAN Scholarship are:

Additional Information: After an initial screening process based on meeting eligibility requirements, all remaining applicants will be evaluated based on their scholastic discipline, personal achievements, community involvement and contribution to the Asian/Pacific American community. At least one of the scholarships will be awarded to the top-scoring child or legal dependent of a current APCA member in good standing.

Award Amount: varies  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $28,000.

Applications are available on the Asian Pacific Islanders for Professional and Community Advancement (APCA) website. In addition to the completed application form, the student must submit an essay of no more than four pages addressing the listed topic; one letter of recommendation that clearly supports strength in character, contributions to the community, and leadership qualities while maintaining an above average grade point average; and a high school transcript (scanned copy submitted electronically). All files must be submitted in PDF format. All items must be submitted electronically via email to the address provided and received by 11:59 p.m. PST on the deadline. Printed submissions will not be accepted.
