Description: The HBCU Council of Shiloh Baptist Church offers the Carolyn M. Harris HBCU Scholarship Award of $1,000 to an incoming freshman at an HBCU with a minimum GPA of 2.5 who is a member of a musical group or (music) education major.

Application requirements for the Carolyn M. Harris HBCU Scholarship Award are:

Additional Information: Eligibility is limited to applicants who meet all of the following criteria: Qualified applicants must be: • A resident of Washington DC, Maryland or Northern Virginia • A member of a church or community-based organization • Complete a Community Service Project (Minimum: 40hrs) • Must obtain one letter of Recommendation ((current music teacher, English teacher or mentor) • Obtain official high school/college transcripts

Award Amount: $1,000 award  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
