In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a resident of Washington DC, Maryland or Northern Virginia.
  2. Must complete a Community Service Project (Minimum: 40hrs).
  3. Must obtain two letters of recommendation (Teacher/Counselor, Pastor/Church Official, Community Organization).

Description: The HBCU Council of Shiloh Baptist Church offers the Heritage HBCU Scholarship Award of $2,000 to an incoming freshman at an HBCU with a minimum GPA of 2.5 on the basis of financial need.

Application requirements for the Heritage HBCU Scholarship Award are:

Additional Information: Eligibility is limited to applicants who meet all of the following criteria: Qualified applicants must be: • A resident of Washington DC, Maryland or Northern Virginia • A member of a church or community-based organization • Complete a Community Service Project (Minimum: 40hrs) • Must obtain two letters of recommendation (Teacher/Counselor, Pastor/Church Official, Community Organization) • Obtain official high school/college transcripts

Award Amount: Up to $2,000 offered.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
