Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  2. Must reside in one of the following Tennessee counties: Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Knox, Loudon, Morgan, Roane, or Sevier County.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  5. Must attend one of the following colleges or universities: Roane State Community College, Pellissippi State Community College, Walters State Community College, Tennessee Technological University, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, or Maryville College.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  7. Must have a ACT score of 19 or higher.
  8. Must be majoring in science or engineering.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors residing in Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Knox, Loudon, Morgan, Roane, or Sevier Counties in Tennessee. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must plan to major in science or engineering. This award is not intended for those students who are planning to pursue a career as a medical professional.

Additional Information: This scholarship was established in 2004 to support higher education in science for residents of Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Knox, Loudon, Morgan, Roane, or Sevier Counties in Tennessee. The award is intended to support studies in science and engineering and is not intended for those students who wish to pursue a professional career in medicine. Applicants must plan to attend one of the following universities: Roane State Community College, Pellissippi State Community College, Walters State Community College, Tennessee Technological University, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, or Maryville College.

Award Amount: $1,400 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,400.

Applications are available on the East Tennessee Foundation website. Prior to starting the application, students must obtain a copy of the East Tennessee Foundation scholarship guide and application instructions. The guide can be obtained online from the East Tennessee Foundation website. Students must review this guide in order to determine if additional supplementary materials may be required to apply for this award, and how those materials should be prepared. Applications must be completed online no later than the deadline date.
